E.I. Surface Treatment
 With E.I., after the anodisation process is finished, a second layer of surface treatment is added. This treatment is forced into the remaining surface impurities. This gives salt no hideout and also results in an extremely smooth-to-the-touch finish. A reel with E.I. treatment has more than double the corrosion resistance of a standard anodised reel.

Exciting Drag Sound
 This audible and highly exciting sound, which occurs when a fish runs, is a modern alternative to the more traditional mechanical clicker or ratchet.

 By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with our SA-RB bearings and integrating a bigger drive gear, X-Ship stands for Extra, Smooth & High Power. Utilising a double bearing supported pinion gear configuration as well as increasing the size of the gear, Shimano engineers have achieved an overall smoother operation whilst under load and higher power capability of reels featuring this enhancement. This increases the efficiency of your reel, meaning that it will stay smoother and perform at its peak for much longer.
